One point of contact for every safety certificate your premises needs. No chasing three different contractors, no separate visits to coordinate, no hunting for last year's paperwork. Businesses from Chichester through to Eastbourne, and across Surrey and London, use EFS to stay tested, certified and on the right side of the law - with reactive call-outs from the same engineers who know the building.

Covering Sussex, Surrey and London
One provider for fire, electrical and security
Qualified, fully insured, commercial specialists
Every compliance deadline tracked for you

Safety work you can stand behind

Commercial premises specialists

Shops, gyms, salons, offices, warehouses and HMOs. Commercial compliance is the whole job here, not a sideline to domestic work.

The same engineers every visit

You deal directly with the people doing the work. No subcontractor chain, no different face each time, no explaining your building twice.

Certificates ready for inspection

Every test documented and filed in one place, so when an insurer, landlord or enforcement officer asks, the paperwork is already there.

Fully insured

Comprehensive public liability and professional cover on every visit, so there is never a question mark over a job.

18th Edition (BS 7671)

Engineers qualified to the current edition of the wiring regulations that all UK electrical work is tested against.

DBS-checked engineers

Vetted, uniformed engineers you can trust on your premises and around your staff and customers.

Why one provider

One company, not five

Most premises end up with a different contractor for the extinguishers, the alarm, the fixed wiring and the CCTV - four sets of visits to arrange, four invoices, four lots of paperwork in four different places, and nobody with the full picture. EFS is the one company for all of it: ongoing electrical, fire and security maintenance and compliance, on one contract.

  • One point of contact for every certificate
  • Fewer separate visits, planned together rather than clashing
  • No chasing three companies to find out what is overdue
  • All your certification kept in one place, not scattered
  • Reactive call-outs from the same engineers who know the building

However you want it run

As hands-off, or as hands-on, as you like

Some clients want compliance to disappear entirely: we hold a set of keys, track every due date and book our own visits, and the first they hear of it is the certificate arriving. Others want every visit arranged through them. Both are fine, and so is anywhere in between - you decide how involved you are, and you can change it whenever you like.

  • We can hold keys and let ourselves in, or work to your access
  • We track the due dates and book the visits ourselves
  • Or we arrange everything through you or a named contact
  • Pay monthly, six-monthly or annually, whichever suits you

How it works

Compliance sorted in four simple steps

No jargon, no scare tactics. We look at what your premises actually needs, put it on a plan, and keep it up to date so you never have to think about it.

1

Free site survey

We visit, walk the premises and tell you exactly what testing and servicing the law requires - and what it doesn't.

2

Tailored plan

You get a clear, fixed monthly quote covering everything your building needs. No upfront fee, no padding.

3

We schedule & test

We book the work around your opening hours and carry it out with minimal disruption to your day.

4

Certificates & reminders

You get every certificate on file and an automatic reminder before anything is due again.

Who we look after

From a single shop to a warehouse full of equipment - if it needs to be safe and certified, we cover it.

Shops & retail

Keep tills, lighting and back-of-house safe and inspected, without closing the doors.

Gyms & leisure

Busy floors and heavy equipment mean regular electrical and emergency-lighting checks.

Cafes & restaurants

Kitchens, appliances and extraction all need testing to stay open and insured.

Salons & clinics

Appliance-heavy treatment rooms that have to pass inspection and reassure clients.

Offices

Fixed-wire testing, PAT and fire cover for the whole floor, arranged around your team.

Warehouses & HMOs

Larger premises and rented units with landlord duties and annual certificates.

Frequently asked questions

Whatever your premises legally needs - typically fixed-wire (EICR) testing, PAT testing, fire extinguisher servicing, alarm and emergency-lighting checks. After a free survey we tell you exactly what applies to you and put it all on one monthly figure.

No. The site survey is free and there is no setup cost. You pay a simple monthly amount that covers the testing and servicing your building needs across the year.

It depends on the size of your premises and what testing applies. There is no one-size-fits-all price, so we survey first and quote a fixed monthly figure with nothing hidden. Book a free compliance survey and we will give you a clear number.

Our engineers are qualified to the 18th Edition of the wiring regulations (BS 7671), the standard all UK electrical work is tested against, and we carry full public liability and professional cover on every visit. Every job is carried out to current regulations and properly certified, so the paperwork stands up when an insurer or an enforcement officer asks for it. We have years of commercial experience behind us and our engineers are DBS-checked.

We are based in Shoreham-by-Sea and cover Sussex from Chichester through to Eastbourne, including Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Lancing and Steyning. We also work across Surrey and London. If you are not sure whether you are in range, just ask.

We tell you plainly what is wrong, what the risk is and what it costs to put right - no pressure, no jargon. You decide how to proceed, and we never invent work that isn't needed.

Yes. Alongside the scheduled testing we handle reactive work: a failed alarm, a tripping circuit, lighting out on an escape route, a system that has stopped doing its job. Contract clients get priority, and because we already hold your records and know your building, we turn up knowing what is installed rather than starting from scratch.

Yes. Plans can be paid monthly, six-monthly or annually, whichever suits your cash flow and your accounting year. The work and the cover are identical either way, so pick the one that is least hassle for you.

Entirely your choice. At one end we can hold a set of keys, track every due date and book our own visits, so the first you hear of it is the certificate landing in your inbox. At the other, we arrange every visit through you or a named contact and turn up only when you have said yes. Most clients sit somewhere between the two, and you can change your mind at any point.
